Hawa Introduces New Mobile Entertainment Concept

Beijing, September 27th, 2004 - Hawa.cn hosted a ceremony in the Red Hall (Hong Guan) in Beijing for the launch of its partnership with pop star Jolin Tsai. Ms. Tsai will serve as Hawa's brand ambassador to promote the mobile entertainment portal. In spectacular fairytale fashion, Jolin Tsai was formally crowned Hawa Princess, and thus assumed her role as Hawa's brand ambassador. It was the first time for a mobile entertainment service provider to invite an A-list star to be its brand ambassador in Mainland China.

With the maturation of SMS, new technologies such as MMS, WAP, JAVA, and new wireless value-added services have been developing quickly. Meanwhile, mobile phones and mobile services are quickly becoming fashionable accessories for young Chinese consumers. The mobile generation may even surpass the Internet generation. The promise of the wireless value-added market has attracted an abundance of developers that want to get in on the undeveloped sector. As a result, the competition among wireless value-added service providers is intensifying.

Aside from traditional SMS, Hawa.cn has introduced additional wireless value-added services to round out its product line including WAP, IVR, Java games, and MMS among others. WAP-based services enable customers to access the Internet, check email, and download pictures and ringtones. IVR services allow users to easily play music as well as access chat rooms and voice messages. Online Java games can be played anytime, from anywhere via a mobile phone. This is an advantage that traditional online games cannot offer. Java games are increasing in popularity among today's youth and are expected to take the place of traditional consoles such as Gameboy in the near future. Hawa provides MMS services that enable mobile phone users to send and receive short messages containing various kinds of multimedia information including text, graphics, audio and data.

With more and more services becoming available to mobile users, the role that cell phones play in people's lives is changing dramatically. The mobile entertainment era is on its way. Mr. Qingdai Wang, CEO of Hawa.cn, believes it is human beings' relentless pursuit of entertainment that has led to the rapid development of the wireless value-added industry. He says the type of service is irrelevant; if it cannot give the customer a completely new experience, it will never be able to capture the market.
